January 30, 2004 --Merrick, New York - Emile’s Candies, Long Island’s Oldest Chocolate
factory, which is marking its 50th Anniversary, has announced the Grand re-opening of its Merrick
Headquartered in Oceanside, Emiles first opened the Merrick location in 2001, In the fall of 2003 it was closed for renovations, and on Tuesday, February 3rd just in time for the Valentine’s Day chocolate candy rush -- it will reopen.

who started working for Emiles Candies during a high school work-study program. We have been home to one of Long Island’s sweetest secrets for 50 years, and we’re one of the last chocolate factories to make all candies by hand. I wanted to make the grand re-opening into the business community of Merrick and update the entire look of the store to attract new and old customers."
The Merrick store is located across from King’s Supermarket, and the celebration will begin at 4pm on February 3rd, with Quinn handing out chocolate covered strawberries to customers who come into the store.
